Waaarrrr Eagle, Hey!
For those who have never been to Dixie...that is Auburn University's football call to arms. The fans scream it at the kick offs. I learned years ago that once you cross the Alabama state line, you must declare your allegiance to either the University of Alabama (Crimson Tide) or to Auburn (War Eagle). And it is not a decision to be taken lightly. So by virtue of marriage, I am an Auburn fan. And at least once a year we drive down to Auburn to watch them play with 85,000+ of our closest friends at Jordan Hare Stadium. College football is a BIG deal in the south. So, for Cletus' birthday, I painted this:

Miserable in Threes
I have been sneezing in threes. The tree pollen here has been horrible this year. Even after the rains, the level is over 3,000 making it "very high"! Cletus rinsed of his truck, and you could see yellow streaks in the driveway where the water dried and left pollen. The next day, it didn't even look like the truck had been washed!
Exaggerated just a bit...
Um, not so much...

Miracle League Opening Day
Saturday was the Opening Day for Miracle League.
Thanks to the many sponsors who make it possible for over 120 kids to play for free!!
The color guard was there. And we had a local DJ celebrity to do the play-by-play.
Everyone had Dominos pizza and each team played one inning.
We have a fantastic coach and a great group of kids on our team!
It is a unique opportunity for everyone to play ball!!

Friday Funny
I could not resist posting this email I received this week...
TRUTHS FOR MATURE HUMANS
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing stinks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. (no comments from the peanut galley, please!)
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories. (isn’t that why I blog?)
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I do not want to have to restart my collection...again!
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.
15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away? (makes sense to me!)
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste!
17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. (my new freezer does!)
19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.
21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.
22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text, put on make-up or finish my food.
24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! Can I get an “Amen!”
27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?
29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.
31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet anything that everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Spring has Sprung
Looks like the winter blahs are over! I have been loving the nearly record temperatures and gorgeous sunny days. I've been taking advantage of this pretty spring and greatly enjoying my early Mother's Day present: golf lessons. So far I have "mastered" putting, chipping and pitching. I have not injured anyone...yet. I did find out last night that hit another player does not create a penalty stroke. Always good to know (hee hee). Ya know, I may need more than six weeks of lessons...
It has been a lot of fun...maybe I will even get to be a descent golfer. It could be that it is a genetic certainty from my dad's "superior gene" pool. He sure loved the golf! Some people would say he was obsessive, and they would be correct. I do not seem to have that obsessive compulsiveness that he had...but then again, you never know.

Today
Outside my window... gawgeous sunshine and 75 degrees
I am thinking ... about being at the beach
I am thankful for... this weather
I am wearing... black pants with a black, white and magenta flowered shirt
I am remembering... some fun times I had as a kid
I am going... to get to work ... really I am! (I just got in after taking Tdawg to the Orthodontist.
I am reading... The Balanced Life (because I feel like the wheels have come off of my life kart and it is laying in the ditch) but only when I can stay awake long enough to read a chapter.
From the learning rooms ... avoid the pizza burn syndrome.
I am hoping... to be productive (or have a good fairy do everything for me?)
On my mind ... How to move furniture from Denver to home.
Noticing that... My house needs painting inside.
Pondering these words... for everything there is a season
From the kitchen... umm, maybe that should be “From someone else’s kitchen”…
Around the house... thinking about doing some more pictures, get organized, repaint the outdoor furniture, paint my bedroom and paint Tdawg’s bedroom…
One of my favorite things… the tulip trees in bloom!
From my photo memories ... where I would love to be...
