Aren't these pretty flowers...but there is something not quite right about them. Oh yeah, they petals are made out of balloons! Isn't that wild?? Well, at least I didn't try to water them.

Weekend
Ah, I had a fabamundo weekend. Eight of us went to Snowbird on Smith Lake. I was the best of everything: best house, best food, best weather, best company. I had very few expectations. Just wanted to relax, maybe paint, maybe write and just recharge my batteries.
Of course, lots of obstacles, came my way in the week preceeding...but I finally ran away from work. The weather was gorgeous, so I headed south on I-65 with the sunroof open and the stereo wide open. The local station was having a "Friday Eighties Free for All". So they were playing ALL the best music!
The house is huge and spotless. I spent most of my time in the "basement". The covered deck had a hot tub and the perfect spot to paint. I had the feeling that it was going to be a great weekend.

Painting again
I painted again last night. I don't feel as if it is my best effort. It was quite challenging. The instructor said it was more difficult because it was more life like and not as abstract as some of the other paintings we have done...so But as they say, even a bad day of painting still beats a good day at work!

A Weekend at Home
Well, I spent the weekend (mostly) at home and got busy on some projects...
1. I finished up the taxes and sent them away. Then boxed up 2010. Whew, big relief!
2. I fixed the necklace that was my grandmother's. The original chain was WAY short. Almost like a child's size. It is precious and when I wore it Monday, I got lots of ooo's and ahh's.

3. I painted some more on the dresser.
4. I straightened up some piles and actually threw some junk away.
5. I cleaned up a closet and donated fabric to a friend. And started working on my clothes. I closet shopped last week: a friend is down several sizes, so she gave me some of her clothes. So, now I have to make room for my new found treasures. Found some great fun clothes for the cruise. Whoo hoo!
Well, it doesn't sound like much...but it was good to mark stuff off of my to do list.
