Today...

Outside my window... a pleasant sunny afternoon (finally, we just had 74 days in a row where the temperature did not go below 70 degrees...those are warm nights!)

I am thinking ... about shopping on Saturday and doing Christmas projects.

I am thankful for... my ice pack and the body's amazing ability to heal (albeit slowly!)

I am wearing... tan pants with a black shirt that has tan colored swirls, my onesole black sandals and my zebra-print miche bag.

I am remembering... nothing. I think my grey matter is on vacation.

I am going... to clean off my desk at home tonight! well, at least one of my desks (they are both piled high and deep)

I am reading... Art books.

From the learning rooms ... bitterness and anger anchors you in the past and keeps you from moving forward.

I am hoping... to be out of therapy in two weeks.

On my mind ... that it is a right-handed world.

Noticing that... nothing gets done while I rehab.

Pondering these words...sometimes when you tell the truth you better have one foot in the stirrups.

From the kitchen... now that the weather is cooler, I feel like cooking!

Around the house... it is dirty and disorganized. So, I need to stay away from the house as much as possible! :-)

One of my favorite things… seeing my sister!!

From my photo memories ... actually it is the next painting I'd like to do...

Weekend

My favorite sister, Trunie and her hubby came to town. They have moved from Frostbite Falls, Minnesota to HOT-lanta, Georgia. Considering the 100+ heat advisories, I am sure they are rethinking the move. But soon it will be gawgeous in the South and freezing butt cold in Wintersota! I am just glad that we will get the chance to see more of each other!!

Saturday, we motored up to Lynchburg:

On the square was a great little unassuming diner: The Iron Kettle. Where I had the fabulous famous Lynchburg Harley Burger! Yummo!!

Afterwards, we roamed the square. Picked up some Harley-Davidson t-shirts and other interesting memorabilia. I got my boss a sign that says: Horsework before Housework. She loved it!

Tdawg decided that he looked good in a cowboy hat:

And we stopped for ice cream. Lynchburg is the home of the Jack Daniels' distillery and in the middle of a dry county. However, they have Jack Daniels' raisin ice cream with (chocolate) whiskey sauce. It sure has a kick to it!

I'd call that a good day!

Four Weeks

Well, today is officially four weeks since surgery! I am officially out of the sling. Ok, to tell the truth I ditched it awhile ago (I never was good at following directions). Therapy is progressing. I am asked a lot about pain. It doesn't really hurt; it is just really sore (internal bruising) and stiff. Every so often I get that pain like when you bang your "funny" bone. But thankfully it does not last. Still two weeks more therapy before I go back to Dr. G. I am expecting great things to happen between now and then.

The first major accomplishment would be a sound night's sleep. If I'm not awake from being uncomfortable, then I am having WILD dreams. The dream the other night I was going up in an elevator with about 5 other people. It continually increased speed until we shot out of the roof (Willy Wonka style). We landed on the other side of the courtyard on the grass. I remember thinking, I am going to have to have the shoulder surgery all over again. And I woke up and could not get back to sleep!

Well, one of these days (soon) it will all be a distant memory.

My life in a Pie Chart

This is almost me...the eating slice should be sleep and the sleeping slice should be therapy...and it should also be thoughts I had just a second ago.

More Pencils

While the teenage boys slept in...they stayed up until 2:30a...I tried another attempt at pencil drawing. Faces are hard, I went a little overboard on the eyebrows. I think I'll stick with flowers from now on!

Time is a Thief

Just does not seem that this was so long ago...and now he is driving! Happy 16th to Tdawg!

Pencil Pushing

I am still in limited use of my right arm. It is getting better...therapy helps (and hurts). By the evening, I am wiped out. So I lay there with my ice pack and in an attempt to behave myself, I started playing with the pencils that Sharika brought me...

...I think I do better with acryllics. But I shall try again!

I was asked what I do with all of the paintings. Several are in hubby's office. And the rest make up this nice collage.

I was told yesterday that I have been allowed another week of rehab, before everyone wants to paint again. I must admit, it is addictive!

Preseason Heat!

We are having heat advisories, which means the temp is around 100 and the heat index (heat plus humidity) is over 105. And these poor kids are out practicing in pads and helmets. Don't you know they are HOT!
