History in the Making
Friday night: the frozen tundra of HGHS (well maybe not quite frozen), history was made! After more than two-and-a-half years, the frustration ended for HG's football team, and so did the state's longest current losing streak. HG, which hadn't won since beating an out-of-conference opponent in the 2006 season finale, got 127 yards and three touchdowns for a 20-17 win and snapped the 27-game losing streak! The fans rushed the field and an impressive fireworks started the celebration! Despite freezing temperatures, no one wanted to go home: it was sweet! I was so happy for the kids, especially the seniors, to win at home during homecoming weekend!
